Thesis Statement and Intro
The US was justified in the dropping of the bombs because it caused the Japanese to surrender and if we had not dropped the bombs, Japan would have obtained more power, many more American lives would have been taken and the United States would be a very different country today.
The question "was America justified in dropping the atomic bombs on Japan" has been a very controversial topic since the incident happened back in 1945. It will most likely remain that way forever. Given the facts of what happened. Being a person against war, of course you would say that in no way shape or form was it right to drop the atomic bombs over the cities. But on the other side of the argument you have to out yourself in shoes of the families that lost loved ones in the Pearl Harbor attacks. Those would be the people that might want revenge on the Japanese because of what they did. Also, the last thing you have to think about is all of the innocent people that died in the attacks in Japan. So, there are many points of view on this issue that will always be controversial.
